The
minimum number of players is two less than the maximum.
Substitutions are allowed on any kick off, any goal kick and any kick in. The
substitute may go on the field at the center line when the player he is
substituting for is a yard from the center line. Illegal substitution will
receive a yellow card and a free kick in favor of the opposite team from the top
of the arc (D).
Any
participant bleeding must leave the field of play immediately and shall not
return without checking in with the referee. If the clock was stopped due to
injury, the injured player must leave the field.
C.
Equipment/Uniforms: Footwear - any indoor soccer shoes and rubber cleat soccer
shoes are allowed. No metal or aluminum cleat soccer shoes are allowed.
Goalie should wear a different color shirt from both teams. Players are NOT
allowed to play if wearing a cast. If players need to wear a mask, helmet, or
knee brace they must provide the league a release or waiver form from their
doctor and parent/guardian.
Players
are not allowed to wear eyeglasses, only sports goggles are allowed. Any player
without the proper equipment will not be allowed to play.
D.
Referees and other
officials: The referee(s) shall be responsible for control of the game. The
referee(s) decisions regarding play are final.
E.
Duration: Games
will be two (2) 20 minute halves with 2 minutes for half time break. All games
will have a continuous clock. The clock may be stopped for serious injury only.
There are no time outs. For a goal to count at the buzzer the ball needs
to be completely over the goal line.
F.
Ball in and out of
play: The ball is put back in play with a goal kick, corner or kick in (instead
of a throw in) from where it went out. A kick in is an indirect free kick. If
the ball hits the ceiling or overhead light fixtures or structure, a free kick
shall be awarded to the opposing team below where the ball made contact with the
ceiling. When the defending team hits the ceiling inside their penalty area, the
opposing team will be awarded an indirect free kick from the top D (arc).
G.
Fouls and
Misconduct: A red card maybe issued for the same reasons as are given during the
outdoor game. An immediate ejection will take place. A red card will
automatically carry at least a one game suspension or longer. The team will play
short handed for the remainder of the game. A red carded player can not be
substituted for. NO slide tackling is allowed, except for the goalies
inside the box. No offside rule will apply. A yellow card will be given
for the same reasons as in the outdoor game. Two yellow cards given to the same
player is a red card. The player's team will have to finish the game shorthanded
and the player will be suspended for at least one game. Yellow cards are given
to the players and/or coaches for the same reasons as the outdoor game plus the
following indoor reasons: Illegal substitutions, not being 15 feet away from the
ball when a free kick is given.
H.
Women Open, Men Open and Men 30+ only:
A Yellow Card shall result in a TWO (2) MINUTE time penalty by offending
player. The penalty will be served to its completion regardless if a goal
is scored.
I.
Free Kicks and
Restarts: The ball must be stationary when a free kick is taken and the player
has 5 seconds to execute the free kick. Failure to put the ball into play before
the 5 seconds will result in the opposing team getting the free kick. When a
free kick is taken, all opposing players shall be at least 15 feet from the
ball. On corner kicks defending players must be 15 feet from the ball, violators
will be given a yellow card.
J.
Goalkeepers:
Goalkeepers are not permitted to retrieve the ball outside the penalty area,
bring the ball back into the penalty area, and then pick the ball up with their
hands. Punting is not permitted for anyone except for the U8 and U9 age groups. Drop kicking regardless of the
number of bounces is not permitted for anyone except for the U8 U9 age groups. An infraction to the punting and
drop kicking the ball by the goalie will result in a free kick at the top of the
D(arc) of the penalty area. Red cards to the goalie will be served by the goalie and
not by someone else, so the goalies will have to be replaced.
K.
For matters not
specifically covered by JFK's set of rules, FIFA
laws of the game shall be followed by the participants, coaches, and referees.
