Information

Player Registration:   All players must be registered on their team's registration form and the parent/guardian must sign the Just for Kicks waiver form before they can participate in the league.  No changes or substitutions to rosters after the fourth game.  All rosters are final upon completion of the team's fourth game.

Number of Players:   Eight is the maximum number of players on a team.  Only four players on the field at one time.  Players may only play on one team per division.  There are no goalkeepers in 4v4 soccer.  Substitution may occur at any dead ball situation, but players must get the referees attention and must enter/exit at the half-field mark only.

Team Uniforms and Equipment:   All players must wear jerseys/shirts during play and each team must bring both a light and a dark colored jersey/shirt.  If both teams are wearing the same color, the home team will change uniforms.  All players must wear shin guards.  Any player without shin guards will not be allowed to play.  Only sports goggles are allowed.  Home team is listed first on the league schedule.

Game Duration:   The game shall consist of two 20 minute halves separated by a two minute halftime period.  Games tied after regulation play shall end in a tie except in playoffs.  A team, at the discretion of the referee, will be forfeited at game time if they are not present.  There are no timeouts.

Goal Scoring:   A goal may be scored from anywhere on the field by either the offense or defense.

Point System:   Points will be scored according to the following: 3 points for a win; 1 point for a tie and 0 points for a loss.

NO OFFSIDES

NO SLIDE TACKLING

Five Yard Rule:   In all dead ball situations, defending players must stand at least five yards away from the ball.  If the defensive player's goal area is closer than five yards, the ball shall be placed five yards from the goal area in line with the place of penalty.

Kick-Ins:   The ball shall be kicked into play from the sideline instead of throw ins.

Indirect Kicks:   All dead ball kicks (kick-ins, free kicks, kick-offs) are indirect with exception to corner and penalty kicks.

Goal Kicks:   May be taken from any point on the end line, and not in the goal box area.

Kick Off:   Must go forward.

Penalty Kicks:   Shall be awarded if, in the referee's opinion, a scoring opportunity was nullified by the infraction.  It is a direct kick taken from the middle of the field with all players behind the half-field line.  If a goal is scored, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick.  Penalty kicks are not live balls.

Player Ejection (Red Card):  Referees have the right to eject a player from the game for continual disobedience or as a result of an incident that warrants sending the player off.  The team may then continue with their three remaining players.  The referee will decide suspension from additional games.

Forfeits:   Any team forfeiting a game will be fined $75 and will not be able to play in the league until the fine has been paid.

Protests:   Formal protests must be submitted in writing within 30 minutes following the completion of the game to the league office.  A $100 fine fee for all formal protests will be charged to the submitting party.  If Just for Kicks rules in favor of the submitting party, the $100 fee shall be returned.   Referee judgment calls are not grounds for protest.  Videotape is not an acceptable form of protest and will not be reviewed.

Sportsmanship:   Players, coaches and spectators are expected to act in the nature of good sportsmanship at all times.  Abuse of the referees will not be tolerated.  Any instance of such conduct will disqualify the responsible team from the game.
